Perfume NEY

Now in contrast to the previous this next advertisement I show... I HATE. With a near passion.

I just don't like it. Nothing about it is appealing. Now THIS is the cliche big bottle being used in the wrong way. It looks uncomfortable. It makes me question (despite my previous love for it) How many times does the big bottle thing have to be done?

The colour palette is so uninteresting, and washes out any life in the image. Making it cold and boring. She looks dead. Or near death at least.

Another thing I don't understand is the styling. Why is she half naked? Is it supposed to be sexy? Are we doing a Tom Ford? Because it's not working. It's not sexy or beautiful...it's awkward.

The model is the beautiful Sky Ferreira. Half Brazilian, half Portuguese heritage YET they do not use this to their advantage. Her heritage is captivating and vibrant. This makes her look like she originates from the North Pole. Another thing that annoys me is that they have her but don't USE her. Ferreira is a singer known for her edgy style but again they don't use this to their advantage. They use her as if she is any other model.

Everything interesting and unique about her has been stripped away. As said before, making her look like any other generic model, like the ones you find in New Look campaigns. They should have used her to their advantage. They have only used her face and name to draw in her fanbase. Attached to this is the way she is positioned. I think that the angle they shot her at is just no flattering at all. She looks like she has giraffe legs. (Am I sounding too harsh? Blame Jimmy Choo's art director for this campaign) She has a great pair of legs, why do they deserve this injustice for the sake of a bottle of smelly water?
